God is Faithful!

This brought tears down my eyes this morning...its a good read.

God is Faithful! - The Best Piece I've Read This Year!

In the country of Armenia, in 1988, Samuel and Danielle sent their young son, Armand, off to school. Samuel squatted before his son and looked him in the eye. "Have a good day at school, and remember, no matter what, I’ll always be there for you." They hugged and the boy ran off to school.

Hours later, a powerful earthquake rocked the area. In the midst of the pandemonium, Samuel and Danielle tried to discover what happened to their son but they couldn’t get any information. The radio announced that there were thousands of casualties.  Samuel then grabbed his coat and headed for the schoolyard. When he reached the area, what he saw brought tears to his eyes. Armand’s school was a pile of debris. Other parents were standing around crying.

Samuel found the place where Armand’s classroom used to be and began pulling a broken beam off the pile of rubble.  He then grabbed a rock and put it to the side, and then grabbed another one.

One of the parents looking on asked, "What are you doing?"   "Digging for my son," Samuel answered. The man then said, "You’re just going to make things worse! The building is unstable," and tried to pull Samuel away from his work.

Samuel just kept working. As time wore on, one by one, the other parents left. Then a worker tried to pull Samuel away from the rubble.  Samuel looked at him and said, "Won’t you help me?"   The worker left and Samuel kept digging.

All through the night and into the next day, Samuel continued digging.  Parents placed flowers and pictures of their children on the ruins.  But, Samuel just kept working.  He picked up a beam and pushed it out of the way when he heard a faint cry. "Help! Help!"  Samuel listened but didn’t hear anything again.  Then he heard a muffled voice, "Papa?"

Samuel began to dig furiously.  Finally he could see his son.  "Come on out, son!" he said with relief.
"No," Armand said.  "Let the other kids come out first because I know you’ll get me."  Child after child emerged until, finally, little Armand appeared.  Samuel took him in his arms and Armand said, "I told the other kids not to worry because you told me that you’d always be there for me!"

Fourteen children were saved that day because one father was faithful.

How much more faithful is our God Almighty!  Whether trapped by fallen debris or ensnared by life’s hardships and struggles, we are never cut off from God’s faithfulness.  He is true to His character.  He is reliable and trustworthy and can always be counted on.

Keep trusting God to the end. Don't break by reading alone, you might be encouraging someone.👍👍👍

THE VERTUE OF CHARCOAL

SAW THIS AND COULDNT HELP BUT SHARE  HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU TOO
*THE VERTUE OF CHARCOAL*.

Charcoal is one of the most disregarded products at home. We only see the need for it when it is time to set fire for Banku.
However, if you really need first aid, charcoal is something you need to have on you all the time, you might not know this but it is one of the most medicinal products you can have at home due to its poison extraction ability.
In case you never gave it much attention, this is the time to do so. Here are *14 benefits* of charcoal you never thought about.

1. *Odour Prevention*
Does your shoe smell bad? just get some charcoal and put it in them. Do you have any bad smell in your room? Drop some charcoal where you suspect the smell could be coming from. Does your fridge or freezer smell? Put a piece of charcoal in it. Do you have strong body odour? Just make a powder out of charcoal and use, thank us later.
Charcoal is very good at getting rid of bad smell. Ever wondered why your parents always scooped out the ash from the coal pot to pour in the hen coop or toilet before sweeping? That was to get rid of the odour.

2. *Keeping Food Fresh*.
If you want your vegetables to be fresh all the time, just make a solution out of charcoal and leave your vegetables in them. Thank us later.

3. *Toxins Removal From Food*.
These days, people complain about the use of fertilizers on plants and vegetables, making them unwholesome and poisonous. If you have charcoal, you don’t need to worry about this, all you need to do is leave the vegetables in a charcoal solution overnight and it’ll take care of the toxins. If you suspect any food contains too many chemicals, just drop them in a charcoal solution for some hours and you’re good to go.

4. *For Teeth Whitening*.
If you want to whiten your teeth, pay no attention to all these adverts on whitening chemicals and technology, just get yourself some charcoal and grab hold of a plantain stalk, make a powder out of the charcoal, mash the tip of the plantain stalk, dip it into the charcoal powder and brush your teeth with it for a week, thank us later.

5. *Restoration Of Soup That Went Bad*.
Did your groundnut soup or palm nut soup go bad? No need to worry about pouring it all away. Just put it back on fire and drop a piece of charcoal in it. This will extract all the bad taste and smell and restore the soup to its fresh state.

6. *Detoxification*
Do you have a hangover out of a drink out with friends the previous night, just have some charcoal with you and chew on it. To make it more effective, make a nice solution out of it and drink, you’re good to go.

7. *Neutralization Of Alcohol*.
If you mistakenly did some wild mixing and feel it can knock you out, just add some charcoal to the mixture and your problem is solved. Or if you took in too much alcohol, just drink some charcoal solution and you’re good to go.

8. *Healing Wounds*.
Do you have a situation where someone’s wound has become so infected to the state doctors are saying they have to cut the affected area? Don’t stress over it, get a large amount of charcoal powder and pour it on the wound. This will extract all the poison from the wound and also help it heal faster. If you have a cut and you want to treat it fast, just get some powdered charcoal and pour on it.

9. *Water Filtration*.
Do you feel your water is contaminated? You don’t need all these products on the market, charcoal can do better, just drop some amount of it in it. Don’t worry about the colour, it is safe, you can even chew on charcoal. It is far safer than eating chicken from KFC.

10. *Skin Cleansing*.
Do you have pimples, acne or any skin disease you really want to get rid of or do you want a very smooth face or skin? All you need is charcoal. Make a thick solution out of it and smear it on your body and leave it on for some hours before taking your bath. It will leave your skin smooth and fresh.

11. *Stain Removal*.
Do you have some stubborn stain in your kitchen, washroom or on your tiles? You actually need charcoal to get rid of it. I know you’re imagining how this black stainy product can actually remove stains right? Just try it, it works like magic.

12. *Getting Rid Of A Bloated Stomach*.
If you ate or drank something and feel bloated, charcoal is the best solution to get rid of the bloating.

13. *Getting Rid Of Bad Cholesterol In You*.
Making a solution out of it and drinking helps eliminate all the bad cholesterol you have stored in you.

14. *Ulcer Treatment*.
Charcoal can treat all the ulcers out there you can think of including stomach ulcer. Just make it a habit to always chew on some.

#Kindly share.

CIVIL WAR

Still Setting The Records Straight!

CIVIL WAR
Moderator: Yes Mr…….Mr. Oparadike.

Question: Chief Awolowo, your stand on the civil war, however unpopular it may have been to the Biafran people…Your stand on the civil war, however unpopular it may have been to the Biafrans or Ibo people, helped to shorten the war. Today, you’re being cast as the sole enemy of the Ibo people because of that stand, by among others, some of the people who as members of the federal military government at that time, were party to that decision and are today, in some cases, inheritors of power in one Nigeria which that decision of yours helped to save. How do you feel being cast in this role, and what steps are you taking to endear yourself once again to that large chunk of Nigerians who feels embittered.
Awolowo: As far as I know, the Ibo masses are friendly to me, towards me. In fact, whenever I visit Iboland, either Anambra or Imo, and there’s no campaigning for elections on, the Ibo people receive me warmly and affectionately. But there are some elements in Iboland who believe that they can maintain their popularity only by denigrating me, and so they keep on telling lies against me. Ojukwu is one of them. I don’t want to mention the names of the others because they are still redeemable, but ….Ojukwu is irredeemable so I mention his name, and my attitude to these lies is one of indifference, I must confess to you.
I’ve learnt to rely completely on the providence and vindication of Almighty God in some of these things. I’ve tried to explain myself in the past, but these liars persist. Ojukwu had only recently told the same lie against me. What’s the point in correcting lies when people are determined to persist in telling lies against you, what’s the point. I know that someday the Ibos, the masses of the Ibo people will realize who their friends are, and who their real enemies are. And the day that happens woe betide those enemies. The Ibos will deal with them very roughly, very roughly.
That has happened in my life. I have a nickname now, if you see my letterhead you’ll find something on top, you’ll find a fish done on the letterhead. Some people put Lion on theirs, some people put Tiger, but mine is Fish. And Fish represents my zodiac sign, those of you who read the stars and so on in the newspapers; you’ll find out that there’s a zodiac sign known as Pisces, in Latin Pisces mean Fish.
So I put Pisces on top, that’s my zodiac sign being born on the 6th of March,….er well, the year doesn’t matter, it’s the day that matter. And then on top of it I write Eebudola. All of you know the meaning of that. You know I don’t want to tell a long story but………………Awolowo school, omo Awolowo, the…… started in Urobo land, in mid-west in those days. They were ridiculing my schools, I was building schools –brick and cement, to dpc level, block to dpc level and mud thereafter. And so the big shots in the place..”ah what kind of school is this? is this Awolowo school? Useless school” and when they saw the children..”ah this Awolowo children, they can’t read and write, Awolowo children” that’s how it started, with ridicule, and it became blessing, and now they say “Awolowo children, they are good people” no more ridicule about it, that’s how it started, so the Eebu becomes honor, the abuse became honor.
And so when I look back to all my life, treasonable felony, jail, all the abuses that were heaped on me, to Coker Inquiry, all sorts, and I see what has happened to the people who led, who led all these denigration campaign, where are they today? Those that are alive are what I call Homo Mortuus- dead living, oku eniyan, that’s what they are, those that their lives have gone.
So when I look back, I come to the conclusion that all these abuses which have been heaped on me all my life for doing nothing, for doing good, they have become honor, and so Eebudola is one of my nicknames. So I’ve cultivated an attitude of indifference, I’ve done no evil to the Ibos.
During the war I saw to it that the revenue which was due to the Iboland- South Eastern states they call it, at that time..East Central State, I kept it, I saved the money for them. And when they ….was liberated I handed over the money to them- millions. If I’d decided to do so, I could have kept the money away from them and then when they took over I saw to it that subvention was given to them at the rate of 990,000 pounds every month. I didn’t go to the executive council to ask for support, or for approval because I knew if I went to the Executive Council at that time the subvention would not be approved because there were more enemies in the Executive Council for the Ibos than friends. And since I wasn’t going to take a percentage from what I was going to give them, and I knew I was doing what was right, I wanted the state to survive, I kept on giving the subvention – 990,000 almost a million, every month, and I did that for other states of course- South eastern state, North central state, Kwara and so on.
But I did that for the Ibos, and when the war was over, I saw to it that the ACB got three and a half million pounds to start with. This was distributed  immediately and I gave another sum of money. The attitude of the experts, officials at the time of the ACB was that ACB should be closed down, and I held the view you couldn’t close the ACB down because that is the bank that gives finance to the Ibo traders, and if you close it down they’ll find it difficult to revive or to survive. So it was given. I did the same thing for the Cooperative Bank of Eastern Nigeria, to rehabilitate all these places, and I saw to it as commissioner for finance that no obstacle was placed in the way of the ministry of economic planning in planning for rehabilitation of the war affected areas.
TWENTY POUNDS POLICY
That’s what I did, and the case of the money they said was not given back to them, you know during the war all the pounds were looted, they printed Biafran currency notes, which they circulated, at the close of the war some people wanted their Biafran notes to be exchanged for them. Of course I couldn’t do that, if I did that the whole country would be bankrupt. We didn’t know about Biafran notes and we didn’t know on what basis they have printed them, so we refused the Biafran note, but I laid down the principle that all those who had savings in the banks on the eve of the declaration of the Biafran war or Biafra, will get their money back if they could satisfy us that they had the savings there, or the money there. Unfortunately, all the banks’s books had been burnt, and many of the people who had savings there didn’t have their saving books or their last statement of account, so a panel had to be set up.
I didn’t take part in setting up the panel, it was done by the Central bank and the pertinent officials of the ministry of finance, to look into the matter, and they went carefully into the matter, they took some months to do so, and then make some recommendation which I approved. Go to the archives, all I did was approve, I didn’t write anything more than that, I don’t even remember the name of any of them who took part. So I did everything in this world to assist our Ibo brothers and sisters during and after the war.
And anyone who goes back to look at my broadcast in August 1967, which dealt with post-war reconstruction would see what I said there.
STARVATION POLICY
Then, but above all, the ending of the war itself that I’m accused of, accused of starving the Ibos, I did nothing of the sort. You know, shortly after the liberation of these places, Calabar, Enugu and Port Harcourt, I decided to pay a visit. There are certain things which I knew which you don’t know, which I don’t want to say here now, when I write my reminisces in the future I will do so. Some of the soldiers were not truthful with us, they didn’t tell us correct stories and so on.
I wanted to be there and see things for myself, bear in mind that Gowon himself did not go there at that time, it was after the war was over that he dorn himself up in various military dresses- Air force dress, Army dress and so on, and went to the war torn areas. But I went and some people tried to frighten me out of my goal by saying that Adekunle was my enemy and he was going to see to it that I never return from the place, so I went.
But when I went what did I see? I saw the kwashiorkor victims. If you see a kwashiorkor victim you’ll never like war to be waged. Terrible sight, in Enugu, in Port Harcourt, not many in Calabar, but mainly in Enugu and Port Harcourt. Then I enquired what happened to the food we are sending to the civilians. We were sending food through the Red Cross, and CARITAS to them, but what happen was that the vehicles carrying the food were always ambushed by the soldiers. That’s what I discovered, and the food would then be taken to the soldiers to feed them, and so they were able to continue to fight. And I said that was a very dangerous policy, we didn’t intend the food for soldiers. But who will go behind the line to stop the soldiers from ambushing the vehicles that were carrying the food? And as long as soldiers were fed, the war will continue, and who’ll continue to suffer? and those who didn’t go to the place to see things as I did, you remember that all the big guns, all the soldiers in the Biafran army looked all well fed after the war, its only the mass of the people that suffered kwashiorkor.
You won’t hear of a single lawyer, a single doctor, a single architect, who suffered from kwashiorkor? None of their children either, so they waylaid the foods, they ambush the vehicles and took the foods to their friends and to their collaborators and to their children and the masses were suffering. So I decided to stop sending the food there. In the process the civilians would suffer, but the soldiers will suffer most.
CHANGE OF CURRENCY
And it is on record that Ojukwu admitted that two things defeated him in this war, that’s as at the day he left Biafra. He said one, the change of currency, he said that was the first thing that defeated him, and we did that to prevent Ojukwu taking the money which his soldiers has stolen from our Central bank for sale abroad to buy arms. We discovered he looted our Central bank in Benin, he looted the one in Port Harcourt, looted the one in Calabar and he was taking the currency notes abroad to sell to earn foreign exchange to buy arms.
So I decided to change the currency, and for your benefit, it can now be told the whole world, only Gowon knew the day before, the day before the change took place. I decided, only three of us knew before then- Isong now governor of Cross River, Attah and myself. It was a closely guarded secret, if any commissioner at the time say that he knew about it, he’s only boosting his own ego. Because once you tell someone, he’ll tell another person. So we refused to tell them and we changed the currency notes. So Ojukwu said the change in currency defeated him, and starvation of his soldiers also defeated him.
These were the two things that defeated Ojukwu. And, he reminds me, when you saw Ojukwu’s picture after the war, did he look like someone who’s not well fed? But he has been taking the food which we send to civilians, and so we stopped the food.

ABANDONED PROPERTY
And then finally, I saw to it that the houses owned by the Ibos in Lagos and on this side, were kept for them. I had an estate agent friend who told me that one of them collected half a million pounds rent which has been kept for him. All his rent were collected, but since we didn’t seize their houses, he came back and collected half a million pounds.
So that is the position. I’m a friend of the Ibos and the mass of the Ibos are my friends, but there are certain elements who want to continue to deceive the Ibos by telling lies against me, and one day, they’ll discover and then that day will be terrible for those who have been telling the lies.

Money Mistakes

#Money Mistake 1:
Never borrow money that accrues interest to start a business (except if you are paying for it through your salary); only borrow to grow your business. This is because business takes a long time to gain ground and begin making profit, yet most loans repayments have to be made within a month of taking the loan or even earlier. Therefore, never borrow money to start a business expecting that the business will generate income to pay back the borrowed money plus the interest.

#Money Mistake 2:
Never spend money you haven't received. Don't even promise someone money based on a promise you have from someone else. If someone tells you: "Ezra, come to my office tomorrow at 9am and pick #30K"don't go out to buy items on credit based on this promise, with the hope that you will pay off your creditor when the promised money comes; it may not come as promised and this will leave you in problems with your creditors.

#Money Mistakes 3:
If you want to save, whenever you receive money, don’t start spending hoping that you’ll save what remains. Normally what remains is zero because as long as money to spend is available, the numerous things you can spend it on are also available. And things to spend on even incite their 'relatives' so that you spend even more than you had planned. When money to spend is not available, we naturally find a way of doing without it. That's why I've learnt to save with an INVESTMENT CLUB. Once I send money there I assume I no longer have it. Before you spend any money, put your savings aside then spend what is left after saving.

#Money Mistake 4:
When you get an opportunity to meet a very wealthy person, never ask for money. Ask for ideas on how to make money. They may even choose to give you money on their own after seeing that your ideas are great, but let getting money from them never be your objective.

#Money Mistake 5:
Keeping your seed instead of planting it. Many people stop at saving. It's very, very difficult to save and have all you need to maintain your lifestyle especially after retirement. When you save, your savings are seed; plant it. When you just keep the seed (saving money) some seeds begin to die (eaten by inflation and the like). That's why I recommend that you read about the different types of investment vehicles you can use to grow your savings. I am not necessarily talking about putting the money in a business, because you can easily lose money in  business. I am talking about putting it in an investment.

#Money Mistake 6:
Never lend someone money you are not willing to lose. By the time you lend someone money, be contented in your heart that should the person fail to pay, you will not die. You should not even lose that person's friendship if they fail to repay the money you lent them. If you feel the person might fail to pay you and this will not affect your relationship with them, then lend them money. If their failure to pay would make you hate this person’s entire clan, please advise the person to go to the bank.

#Money Mistake 7:
Never append your signature to guarantee someone on a financial matter if you are not willing or able to pay the money on their behalf. Do I have to explain that one? No, it's self-explanatory.

#Money Mistake 8:
Avoid keeping money you don't intend to use in the short-term within easy reach. For instance, don’t walk with #100K in your pocket when all you plan to do in a day costs #20K. Like I mentioned in Money Mistake 3, there are always expenses available to gobble any money that is within reach, so if you don't want to lose it, put it away in a safe place.

#Money Mistake 9:
Avoid keeping money in inappropriate places e.g. in socks, under the pillow, in a pit, in the sitting room, in the bra, in a travel bag that you will place somewhere in a bus ... impulse buying is a devil that will keep you busy!

#Money Mistake 10:
Spending money on an item that you can do without (at least for the time being). These days when I pick money from my pocket or wallet, before paying for something I ask myself: What would happen if I didn’t buy this? If I find I can live with the consequences of not having that thing, I smile and walk away.

#Money Mistake 11:
Paying an amount for something that's not the minimum you can get that same value for. In other words, if you are along Opebi Street and you pay #5K for a shoe that you can get at #3K at Ikeja market, that's a money mistake except for those who have achieved financial freedom.

#Money Mistake 12:
Wanting to be the savior of the world by helping everyone in financial need. My sister, my brother,  you are not Jesus. If you find it so hard to say no to a financial demand, you may think you are practising generosity when in actual sense you are committing (financial) suicide. We are not learning to be miserable here; we are learning to live within the boundaries of reality.

#Money Mistake 13:
Consistently spending all you earn or more than you earn. It's like having a drum where you have an inlet that's smaller than the outlet. It will never get full. And should the inlet ever reduce significantly the drum will run dry. If you do it the other way round and the inlet is bigger, it will get full and even overflow. Hence, we have to always ensure we are widening the inlet while narrowing the outlet – all the time. Your side hustle comes in handy!

#Money Mistake 14:
Thinking about short-term only and forgetting about long-term or thinking about the long-term and forgetting about the short-term. For instance, Lydia was told that there's money in land. She saved money over a long period of time and bought 30 acres of land. Now she has the land but she is always broke. She is always complaining. She's disgruntled and she doesn't seem to see herself earning from the land in the near future. Now, let's ask ourselves: Having 30 acres of land and no money to feed your family or take a child to hospital, is that wealth or poverty? I think Lydia only looked at long-term needs and forgot that she has short-term needs that require money. What of those who find they are one paycheck away from salary? Are they thinking about the long-term needs?

Let’s take stock of our finances. How many mistakes are you guilty of? Do you now feel better-equipped to do better with these tips? Good luck, savers! Share this knowledge with your friends because it will not benefit you if you are selfish with it.

Pls if this has been shared in this group earlier then I apologise. Just got it and it taught me a few things. 😂🤓👍

IF A LIZARD CAN, WHY CAN'T WE?* .

*IF A LIZARD CAN, WHY CAN'T WE?*
.
This is a true story that happened in Japan.

In order to renovate the house, a Japanese man breaks open the wall. Japanese houses normally have a hollow space between the wooden walls.

When tearing down the walls, he found that there was a lizard stuck there, because a nail from outside had been hammered into one of its feet.

He sees this, feels pity, & at the same time curiousity. When he checks the nail, it was nailed 5 years ago, when the house was built!!!

*What happened?*

The lizard had survived in such a position for 5 yrs!!!
In a dark wall partition for 5 years without moving, it is impossible and mind-boggling.

Then he wondered how this lizard had survived for 5 years without moving a single inch, since its foot was impaled!

So he stopped his work and observed the lizard, to see what it has been doing, and how it has been eating

Later, not knowing from where it came, appears another lizard, with food in it's mouth.

Ah! He was stunned and touched deeply.
For the lizard that was impaled by the nail, another lizard had been feeding it for the past 5 years.

Imagine? It has been doing that untiringly for 5 long years, without giving up hope on its partner.

Imagine what a small creature can do, that a creature blessed with a brilliant mind cannot do.
.
Please, never abandon your loved ones. Don't turn your back on people because they are in difficulty. Don't see yourself as more intelligent or the best. You may be a bit luckier today but life is uncertain and can change things tomorrow....

A Moment of negligence might break the very heart which loved you against all odds..

Before you say something just remember...

It takes a moment to *break*, but an entire lifetime to *make* ............

God created space within our fingers so that we can hold hands......

Be there for somebody today.
Love one another!!

REFLECTIONS

#REFLECTIONS

For close to 20 years as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dunlop Plc, a Nigerian tyre manufacturing firm, Jabez Dayo Lawuyi was the toast of the leading media houses in the country on account of the high profile image he had been able to create for the company. Dunlop was one of the fastest growing companies listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on account of stock price appreciation.

But in a twist, Dunlop ran into rough waters – a situation that forced the company to close its major plants, scale down operations drastically and retrench over 90 per cent of its staff. Lawuyi, who at the moment, is involved in some business consultancy, currently resides in Canada with his family. I got him to speak with me when he visited the country recently for a board meeting.

Among other questions, I asked him what happened to Dunlop. His response: “People have asked me several times how Dunlop got to the stage it is now. It is very simple. It was because we trusted the Government to fulfill its own part of a deal and it failed. Government asked and we agreed that we should expand our facilities and gave us assurance that they would keep the then customs duty level at the rate it was to protect us, at least for a moment, and from foreign imports that take most of the infrastructure for granted in their countries. We borrowed money locally, raised more capital and within a short time, we completed a brand new All Steel Radial Truck Tyre plant – the biggest and the best in West Africa. The second week of our new production was the time the Government moved the import duty on tyres to as low as 10% (that is, if importers pay at all) meaning it became far cheaper to import tyres than to manufacture in Nigeria. The selling prices of imported tyres were in some cases lower than our cost. So, our stocks piled up. We pleaded, begged, shouted, and I practically moved my office to Abuja. But no one listened! Our staff strength of over 1500 had to go, and we started finding ways to repay our debts through asset disposals. The good news is that we can now see some light at the end of the tunnel and we believe that ‘dry bones shall rise again. Lawuyi also shared some life lessons. Please enjoy the insights.

Lesson 1

Spirituality is critical.

The most important aspect of one’s life is one’s spirituality. There’s a big difference between spirituality and religiosity. Spirituality is your one-to-one relationship with your Creator, being aligned with what He wants you to do. It just so happens that spirituality in most cases can only be attained through particular religion- here I’m not talking about whether you are a Christian or Muslim. If you do not align yourself with

whatever God has set out for you, you will just find out whatever you do does not stand the test of time. So, that for me is the most critical lesson I have learnt.

Lesson 2

There is a payback time.

There is nothing you do that will not come back, either as a form of reward or as a form of punishment. A man who has been drinking all his life for 40 years, now in his 55th year tells me he has cancer of the “XYZ”. You have to ask him, “what have you been doing with your life?” A lady who has been jumping from one bed to another and now finds that she is in a very serious situation with her life must be asked, “what did you do with your life?”

Lesson 3

Live within your means.

Many people will tell you that they have never had enough money in their lives. The issue is not having sufficient money; the issue is being able to live within your means. The way that God has structured it is that He ensures that everybody on earth has an opportunity to access a certain amount of resources/money that can take care of him to a particular level. But what most of us do is try to change that level on our own. People get into a financial difficulty because they want to jump the process.

Lesson 4

Invest part of your earnings.

This is one rule I have applied with great results: no matter how much you earn, you must try and keep something aside, just in case. Your financial wellbeing is not dependent on how much money you can make but how much you can keep. If you keep it obviously, you will invest. So, you have to ensure that you consciously make sure that you can keep, invest and create wealth because salary, living from day to day won’t give you wealth except you steal. And, remember there are consequences for that as we said earlier. Things take time, and a good thing would take an even a longer time to build, cultivate, and ensure it has a root and a foundation. All good things are born small and they, when given the opportunity, will grow. Sudden big things are monstrous and will die.

Lesson 5

Take care of your health.

Health is another issue. If you take care of your health, as you go along, the health will take care of you, when you cannot. Do not expose yourself to toxic matters, substances that you know will harm you in the future. I can tell you that I’m almost 70 now and you find that apart from the normal wear and tear of the body, I still feel adequately fit. Most of the things that the younger ones do these days are the things destroying their health. This is why there is a need for self-discipline. You see our young ones jumping from one bar/hotel to another till late at night when they should be resting the body. When you

ask, why are you spending late night? The answer you get is: oh, we are networking. Must you only network at night? What has happened to those who did?

Lesson 6

Obey your conscience.

Obey your conscience because it is put there by God to guide you. Don’t kill your conscience, don’t override your conscience. Many of us override our conscience and consequently, we get into serious problems. There is a spark of God in everyone telling us what is good or bad. It whispers quietly. However, because we see only the temporary ‘good’ in the act we ignore that gentle voice. Develop that voice by moving closer to God. He will always guide you.

Lesson 7

Treat your wife like your sister

I treat my wife as my sister and she treats me as her brother. That makes all the difference. Many people believe that they have problems in marriage because they marry someone they don’t know. That is not true. What people need is to understand what life is all about. If you understand that the Creator created both of you, you would treat each other like you are from the same family. The same way you treat your sister is the same way you should treat your wife. You cannot achieve a lasting success in your workplace if your home is in disarray. The first thing to know, accept and respect as husband and wife is that everything you individually, do openly or secretly will affect each other eventually.

BOOKS

–Holy Bible

– The Sermon notes I inherited from my Father who was a Pastor.

– Books by Robin Sharma on life and life principles.

Best advice ever received.

To live within my means, to be grateful for everything I get, to be humble always and to help anybody that comes my way. I got those from the Bible and they have greatly shaped my life.

Hero

I don’t have a mentor and that does not make me proud or arrogant. I don’t have a role model, but I have roles in models. If I see you that you are doing something that I like, I’ll pick that role from you. You may be shocked at some of the things that your role model does in the secret, you don’t know. As I’m talking to you now, some of you may say that I want to be like Mr. X. You don’t know the things I do, you don’t know the things I think,

you don’t know the places I visit, that’s not to say I visit bad places, you don’t know the mistakes I have made. So, don’t copy a man; copy only God.

Greatest mistake

One of my greatest mistakes was when I forgot about God.

Of course, I paid the price. I thought that having achieved a particular thing in life I had arrived. I began to feel big and forgot where I was coming from. But of course, God called me back. At that point, I realised that I shouldn’t have done that. You cannot run from God. Pray He calls you back early.

The second mistake was trusting the government to play its part of the deal. As the CEO I trusted government to provide the enabling environment and make good policies that would be friendly to businesses; but it was a fatal error. The Government backed out of the deal. That trust led to the trouble that Dunlop is facing today.

REGRETS

Given what I know now, I wish I had started living it much earlier than I did. There is no substitute for knowing God; I am not talking of knowing about God. What the younger ones can learn from that is, please, please, please move closer to your Creator in your youth. Some of you can relate this statement to a passage in the Bible.

His siblings most times
His wife's demands
Vigilante bills
Erecting Building
Religious demands
Family social bills

Community demands

On top of the above, he also faces:

Wife stress/insults
Boss stress at work
Police stress on the way

Fear of job loss
Unemployment pains

Too Late To Save Divided, Hostile, Unequal Nigeria By Bayo Oluwasanmi

Too Late To Save Divided, Hostile, Unequal Nigeria By Bayo Oluwasanmi

s

We have witnessed the independence of Slovenia from the former Yugoslavia, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the division of the former Czechoslovakia, and the separation of both Eritrea from Ethiopia and South Sudan from Sudan.

Numerous of successful secessions have allowed people greater freedom and self-determination: Greek independence from the Ottoman Empire, the Hungarian split with the Soviet Union in 1989, Singapore's secession from Malaysia in 1965, Ireland's independence from the UK, and countless others.

Nigeria's impotence as ungovernable, divided, separate, hostile, and unequal nation is apparent for all to see. Nigeria, as we know it, is dead! The country is irrevocably broken along ethnic, linguistic, geographical, religious, and cultural lines. The sooner the Nigerian people accept this, the sooner the break-up and the sooner we can move on.

From time to time, the break-up of Nigeria becomes inevitable to many of us who believe that “In the course of human events, it is necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them.” We're in one of those periods now, and while the reasons are unique, the historical moment is not new. In 1953, the northerners considered secession from the Nigerian colony that would soon be an independent nation.

The words of our founding fathers that Nigeria is not one country remain prophetically instructive.

Listen to them:

“Nigeria is not a nation. It is mere geographical expression. There are no ‘Nigerians’ in the same sense as there are ‘English,’ ‘Welsh,’ or ‘French.’  The word ‘Nigerian’ is merely a distinctive appellation to distinguish those who live within the boundaries of Nigeria and those who do not,” Chief Obafemi Awolowo said in 1947.

“Since 1914 the British government has been trying to make Nigeria into one country,” Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Balewa said, “but the Nigerian people themselves are historically different in their backgrounds, in their religious beliefs and customs, and do not show themselves any signs of willingness to unite... Nigerian unity is only a British invention.”

Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe argued in 1964 that “It is better for us and many admirers abroad that we [Nigeria] should disintegrate in peace and not in pieces. Should the politicians fail to heed this warning, then I will venture the prediction that the experience of the Democratic Republic of the Congo will be child's play if ever it comes to our turn to play such a tragic role.”

The recent proclamation of northern youths and the ultimatum given to Igbo people to vacate the north within three months shed much needed light on why Nigeria is not, and will never be, one united nation. There is no mystery as to how we got to this point. There is also no mystery as to who to blame. There is no need for conspiracy theories. The polarization of public life exacerbated by government corruption and incompetence has become so tense it led to widespread civil disorder, culminating in chaos and crises.

Nigeria is fast approaching a complete collapse. For long, many of us have raised alarm that our government and the way the system is being run are not working, and cannot guarantee delivery of basic essential services. The ominous declaration of the northern youths has left Nigerians in fear of what tomorrow may bring. While all this plays out, Nigerians watch in horror and amazement from the sidelines and wonder when the inevitable will occur.

Inequality between the looting ruling class and the poor has become increasingly intolerable. The native tyrants in the National Assembly, better still, National Asylum, are in stupor of random pleasures and whims, feasting on plenty of food and sex, and reveling in the non-judgment that democracy is civil religion. From all indications, our democracy is in retreat, close to being destroyed by vast corruption, ineptitude, incompetence, and fraud. Those in Abuja couldn't care less about our people. They couldn't care less that for 58 years we couldn't get along.  They couldn't care less that Nigeria is as good as dead. Nigerians are angry – Igbos, Hausas, and Yorubas. They are all angry for being sick and poor and tired of being cannon fodders. They are tired of being jobless and hopeless. Brother is turning against brother. Killing of families and children are the norm rather than the exception. Nigerians are nickel-and-dimed to death in their everyday life. Workers, if paid at all, are paid peonage wages. The nation's peonage wage is at subsistence level. This is simply incompatible with self-determination.

With subsistence living, Nigerians are constrained into a desperate state. Their horizon is limited to the present day, to getting enough of what they need to make it to the next. The minimum wage in Nigeria is N18,000 per month. This is criminally below the poverty line. That's a scrambling, anxious existence, narrowly bounded. It's impossible to decently feed, clothe, and shelter yourself on a wage like that, much less a family, much less have money to see the doctor,  or pay for your kids college, or participate in any of those good things of life. Down to the peon level, the pursuit of happiness sounds like a bad joke.

The critical mass of our people is kept in peonage. All its vitality spent in the trenches of day-to-day survival with scant or no opportunity to develop the full range of its faculties. That's why I'm miffed by the numbed-out, dumbed-down, make belief Nigerians who still believe that Nigeria could be saved from falling apart. This is deceptive and uncharitable given our past political history and the present political realities of our nation. Those who see future or unity in one Nigeria are deluded, ignorant, unrealistic. They don't know what's real, what's possible, and can't differentiate fact from fiction.

How can the proponents of one Nigeria explain the humiliation and insult heaped on Vice President Osinbajo when the Chief of Thief Abba Kyari referred to him as “Coordinator of National Affairs” instead of Vice President? The freest and fairest presidential election in our history was won by MKO Abiola. The election was annulled by a northerner. He was robbed of the presidency and he was killed.  If Osinbajo and Abiola were Hausas, nothing of such would have happened to them. Examples of such second class treatment abound. We need not bury our heads in the sand like the proverbial ostrich as if all is well with a troubled and traumatized nation suffering from history of division and disunity.

Nigeria is a country divided against itself and cannot stand. Nigeria is virtually bankrupt. The clamor for separation is the manifestation of a nation grounded as it were, without hope of moving forward after 58 years. I believe it's too late to save Nigeria from disintegration. Our union for the past 58 years has produced no peace, no progress, and no prosperity for the poor majority. The only beneficiaries and the loudest advocates of one Nigeria are those profiteers from the miseries of the pulverized poor – the ruling class.

Mr Ade

One of the most important lessons of my life I have learnt from a mad man, yes a mild non-violent lunatic if there is anything like that.  Anybody familiar with Awolowo Avenue old Bodija around 1999 will know Mr Ade, some people call him Londoner, He is always going about the street politely begging for five naira. “Brother e joo e fun mu ni 5 naira” meaning bros please give me 5 naira. He is always well dressed and polite, I bet you will be willing to give him. I had sometimes heard a rumour that he was formerly in the UK and was conjured home by his family magically, this eventually had effect on his sanity. While I cannot authenticate the story, I can confidently say he was a very polite mad man.
On this faithful day as I was standing in front of the gate of my Uncle’s house, Mr Ade passed bye soliloquising, he eventually turned to me and begged for the usual five naira, unfortunately, I had no five naira change with me, so I told him I have no money, at least I used to give him, but the look on his face shows so much need, he must be really in need, I changed my mind and called him back, I gave him twenty naira.
Twenty naira at this time will buy you a complete lunch with a bottle of coke in Zik hall cafeteria, hence to both of us, it was a big money. He was happy and with joy and trust he moved close to me and said “can I ask you a very important question”, I nodded in acceptance, and then he asked “am I a mad man?” The obvious answer from a sane person will be no, and that was what I said. “Thank you!” he replied, then he said, “just because I don’t see things the way other people do, does that make me a mad man?” No, I answered again.
He bent down on the floor, and wrote “W” and asked me what he wrote, At this point, I was already feeling ashamed getting involved in a lengthy conversation with him, in a hurry to leave, I said “w”, but I was amazed when he replied to my answer, “You only see “W” because of the angle at which you are looking at it, if you turn upside down you ll see “M”, from the right side it is “3” and from the left side it is “E”. The fact that I don’t see things at the perspective that everyone is seeing it doesn’t make me a mad man, he said. Then he left.
I pondered for so long about this though, and more, its application to life, we act and relate to people based on the perspective at which we are looking at their situation, have you taken your time to look at other possible perspectives, views and angles, maybe a little from their own view before we judge them. I then decided before I go angry or act against or judge anyone that has done something unfavourable to me, I will view it in at least three possible perspective, mine, theirs and other’s view.
So before you judge people, before you rage your anger on them, take a little time to view their angle or perspective and if you still cannot see a reasonable reason, then you can.

ADDITIONAL NOTE:  Please note that Mr Ade Adeyemo was rehabilitated and taught Physics in Oke Ibadan High School till 2004 when he passed away. His students were proud of him, they told me so. I am glad I met him.........SENT AS RECEIVED. ..

Yorubas are coward?

Copied

Yorubas are coward?

Do you know that the major actors responsible for the victory of the ill fated civil war were Yorubas (Ben Adekunle, Obasanjo, Gen Adebayo, Awolowo etc)

Do you know that it was ONLY the yorubas that stood by Ojukwu in his early days in exile despite being a treasonable felony to do so.

Do you know that no Igbo leader, not even one, has the gut to visit Ojukwu in exile within the first seven years. Only Yoruba 'cowards' like Soyinka, Tai Solarin & co were brave enough to visit and spend time with him in Abidjan.

Do you know that of all his contemporaries it was only the Zik of Africa that ran abroad during the political turbulence of late 60s.

Do you know that if Abiola was to be Igbo in the case of June 12, they won't have gotten Obasanjo.

Do you know that despite the heroic welcome giving to Ikemba upon his return from exile, the same people rejected him from becoming a senator less than a year after?

Yorubas are not cowards.

We are compasionate deep thinkers who don't do things precipitously and we see beyond tommorow.

We don't fight wars we can win with brains with hands.

We are warrior who use great ideas, intellect and strategies to fight war.

We can decide to lose a battle just to win a war.

We are the most sophisticated microcosm of the entity called Nigeria.

We are the glue that bind Nigeria together.

We are Yorubas, omo to ni ran. The desendant of Oduduwa.

HOW TO GET RID OF COCKROACHES

HOW TO GET RID OF COCKROACHES
Cockroaches are dissgusting insects or better said pests that thrive in houses, particularly in the dark and warm places. These pests carry dangerous diseases.

There are many different ways in which you can get rid of the cockroaches, but most of the products specially created to destroy these pests are loaded with poisonous chemicals. These chemicals are dangerous for your and the health of your children, as well.

Below is presented a  natural mixture that is completely harmless for your family and pets, but is extremely efficient and will kill the cockroaches instantly.

All you need is: 1 onion and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

Preparation: first chop the onion and then add the baking soda. Place the resulted mixture in the corners of your house, in the kitchen and in the bathroom. Very soon you will notice dead cockroaches on these places. Repeat this process every day and you will get rid of these disgusting pests – forever!

NOTE: Can a cockroach hurt you?
While they do not bite or sting they do feed and live in areas that harbor dangerous bacteria, such as bathrooms, drains, and dumpsters. The American cockroach (like other roaches) carries the bacteria on their body and can contaminate food as well as areas where food is prepared.

We really hope you find this article helpful and don’t forget to share it with your friends and family. Thank You.

THE YOUTHS OF ODUDUWA REPUBLIC LAGOS DECLARATION – 10TH JUNE 2017

Another Yoruba Group:

THE YOUTHS OF ODUDUWA REPUBLIC
LAGOS DECLARATION – 10TH JUNE 2017
In view of recent events in the political space called Nigeria, we, the youths of Oduduwa republic occupying the geographical space called South West of Nigeria hereby categorically state without any reservation that we are sick and tired of the generational threats of the Igbo extraction of this forced union, to go their separate ways in what they call Biafra.
In this threat we were born, in this threat we’ve lived our lives and if care is not taken, in this same threat our children will grow up and give birth to their own children. It is unfortunate that our fathers do not realize the enormous damage they do to our personalities and confidence by keeping quiet all these years making us look like the Igbos are doing us a favour by cohabiting with us, occupying our space, enjoying our resources and even to the point of dominating our political arena. OUR GENERATION MUST END THIS NONSENSE.
Without wasting time in going to the details of the issues, as the whole world knows too well where we are coming from, where we are and where we are likely to end up, we wish to make it abundantly clear that we shall no longer tolerate the madness of the Igbo region intimidating, harassing and defrauding the Yoruba nation with their empty calls for Biafra.
As from today, the 7th day of June 2017, any mention of Biafra again on our soil will automatically, without recourse to any other warning, earn the Igbos an eviction notice from all of the six states that form ODUDUWA REPUBLIC namely, for the avoidance of doubts, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti. We shall within three months of such act of agitation for Biafra do everything possible to chase the Igbos out of our land so we all can leave in peace and regain our dignity as human race.
If you are my wife or my husband and every morning you wake up, you threaten to divorce me, one day, no matter how gentle and loving I am, I will get tired of your threats and accept your proposal, that exactly is the stage we are now. But note that you cannot divorce me and still insist you want to live in my house or keep occupying my space. You cannot divorce me and still insist on sleeping with me forever, it cannot just work. You divorce me, you go your way and allow somebody else who values me, who will not be abusing and cursing me everyday of my life to move in and occupy the space. It’s just common sense.
It should be noted that we are not by this declaration asking the Igbos to leave our space, however, the choice is theirs. If you want to live within the ODUDUWA REPUBLIC, you must henceforth shut up, shut down your agitation for Biafra, respect us as a people, your loving and accommodating hosts and choose to live in peace with us, otherwise, any three months from the time you carry out any Biafra activity again, we will make sure you vacate our land.
The fact that our fathers have tolerated this nonsense for ages does not make all of us stupid, Oduduwa lineage is never a cowardly race, we only don’t react intuitively, even the Igbo race should know by now that everyone has been pushed to the wall and if you think this is an empty threat, we dare you to dare us.
We are using this medium also to call on all Nigerian citizens of Yoruba extraction living, working or sojourning in any part of the Southern region of the Nigeria to, as a matter of urgency, begin to make a relocation plan. Home is home, nowhere else is better than home. Please do not allow this time bomb to catch you unawares. Most of the people parading themselves as Yoruba leaders will not take any proactive steps now because their children and family members are not in any of those areas, they are rather scattered all over the US and Europe so be careful in listening to their assurances of nothing will happen. Your destiny is in your hands, if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere else but your life first.
In conclusion, we call on all political, social and religious leaders in Nigeria to prevail on the Igbos to either stop talking about Biafra or immediately begin to relocate to their country as we will not be held responsible for the consequences of their action or inaction henceforth.
This declaration goes for any tribe, region or group of people that cannot stand our gut on our soil. A word is enough for the wise.
Long Live Oduduwa Republic
ODUDUWA A GBE WA O.

Northern Youth Groups Restate Call For Igbo To Return To 'Biafra'

Northern Youth Groups Restate Call For Igbo To Return To 'Biafra'
siteadmin / 1 day ago

A coalition of youth groups from Northern Nigeria has reacted to widespread condemnation of their ultimatum to Igbo citizens residing in all parts of Northern Nigeria to leave on or before October 1, 2017 to return to Southeastern Nigeria. The coalition, made up of Arewa Citizens Action for Change, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Arewa Youth Development Foundation, Arewa Students Forum, and Northern Emancipation Network, had on June 6, 2017 issued their ultimatum to Igbo to return to their ethnic heartland in order to achieve the secessionist agitation for a Republic of Biafra. In the same statement, the groups had urged all Northerners living in the Southeast to return to the North by the October 1 deadline.

The coalition’s statement provoked a deluge of reactions, with Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State condemning their ultimatum and demanding that security agencies arrest the signatories to the “Kaduna Declaration,” so named because the youth groups met in Kaduna, the state capital.

In addition, the Northern Governors’ Forum as well as Ohaneze NdIgbo, the apex socio-political organ of the Igbo, strongly criticized the Kaduna Declaration, declaring it treasonable and unconstitutional as well as a grave threat to law and order in the country.

But in a statement issued today, the coalition of Northern youth groups pushed back against critics of their position, accusing Governors El-Rufai and Kashim Shettima of Borno State of attacking their position on account of the two governors’ political ambitions.

The coalition claimed that they never advocated the use of violence to achieve their goals. It described critics of its Kaduna Declaration as “mischievous,” adding, “we have never anywhere and at anytime, under whatever circumstances, called anybody to violence as a means of conflict resolution.

“In strict observance of that tradition we never employ violence as a means of pursuing our interest and at every opportunity, we opt for peaceful engagements and implore people to eschew violence in all its ramifications.”

The coalition of Northern youth groups said they were “particularly disappointed by the treacherous positions assumed by Nasir Ahmed Elrufai and Kashim Shettima who in pursuit of their blind ambition for the vice presidency, chose to side with the sessessionist Igbos against the interest of peace-loving Nigerians.”

The coalition reaffirmed their demand for the Igbo to evacuate from the Northern part of Nigeria, and restated their rejection of any arrangement that would include the Igbo in the Nigerian federation.

The coalition said the earlier statement they released two days ago was a call on Nigerian authorities and the international community to facilitate the Igbo demand to live in a separate nation called Biafra.

The latest statement by the Northern youth group, riddled with spelling and other grammatical errors, contended that their coalition “primarily called on the authorities and the international community to step in to formalize the actualization of the dream of a people who say in words and in action, and the whole nation appears to concur, that they are Biafrans not Nigerians.”

They added: “We restate our determination and commitment to ensuring that the North will never partake in any contrived arrangement that would still have the Biafran Igbo as a component.

“We reiterate our call on Nigerian authorities and recognized international bodies such as the ECOWAS, AU and UN to hasten the initiation of the process for the final actualization of the Biafran nation and with it the excision of the Igbos out of the present federation.”

JOINT PRESS STATEMENT BY THE AREWA CITIZENS ACTION FOR CHANGE, AREWA YOUTH CONSULTATIVE FORUM, AREWA YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, AREWA STUDENTS FORUM AND NORTHERN EMANCIPATION NETWORK ON THE FALLOUT OF THE KADUNA DECLARATION
Thursday June 8, 2017

INTRODUCTION
It should be recalled that on Tuesday June 6, 2017 this coalition led several other northern groups to review the position of the North in the wake of the widening and escalating movement for secession orchestrated by groups in Eastern Nigeria.
At the end, we came up with a position paper which we presented as the Kaduna Declaration in which we primarily called on the authorities and the international community to step in to formalize the actualization of the dream of a people who say in words and in action, and the whole nation appears to concur, that they are Biafrans not Nigerians.
We further urged those Biafran nationales to relocate from the North to their newfound country in order to allow other people have peace.
We are today compelled to make this further statement to clarify our stand on some issues that trailed the Kaduna Declaration made on Tuesday June 6, 2017.

CONSEQUENT OBSERVATIONS
After meeting to review the fallout of that Tuesday's Declaration, our groups have arrived at the following fundamental observations:
1. That some elements have for reasons best known to them, mischievously distorted the intent of our original script by alluding such words as 'violence, ' 'threat, ' 'war' and 'mass action' to it.
2. We find this mischievous because as cultured thoroughbred Northerners we have never anywhere and at anytime, under whatever circumstances, called anybody to violence as a means of conflict resolution.
3. In strict observance of that tradition we never employ violence as a means of pursuing our interest and at every opportunity, we opt for peaceful engagements and implore people to eschew violence in all its ramifications.
4. This informs why, a majority of discerning Nigerians, not necessarily northerners alone, understood and identified with our express call for the Biafrans to be allowed to actualize their long-held secessionist aspiration.

RESTATING OUR POSITION
1. We restate that we have never called anybody to violence and that people should discountenance the elements of fear and threat introduced by the distortions of merchants of mischief.
2. We wholeheartedly endorse the moves made variously by our leaders to allay those fears and urge people to be peaceful and law-abiding while at the same time resolutely insisting on having the right thing done by allowing the Igbo to have and move to their dream country in accordance with the universal fundamental right to self-determination.
3. We restate our determination and commitment to ensuring that the North will never partake in any contrived arrangement that would still have the Biafran Igbo as a component.
4. We reiterate our call on Nigerian authorities and recognized international bodies such as the ECOWAS, AU and UN to hasten the initiation of the process for the final actualization of the Biafran nation and with it the excision of the Igbos out of the present federation.

APPRECIATION:
Despite the minor distortions that caused some measure of anxiety, we make bold to say that the cheerful responses to our position which flowed through the internet and by way of personal telephone conversations nationally and universally has resonated that peace-loving Nigerians who have been tormented and menaced by the irredentist proclivities of the Igbos are overwhelmingly desirous to put an end to it.
As we acknowledge this outpouring of patriotic support across the nation, we implore people, particularly our cultured northerners to remain restraint in the face of any provocation from any quarter and to debate intelligently.
We assure them that we shall be firm and resolute in honestly and painstakingly pursuing what we all know is a noble and just cause without hurting anyone.

TREACHERY
We have taken time to analyze the reactions that trailed our Declaration, and were nauseated by the comments of some disgruntled northern political power mongers.
We are particularly disappointed by the treacherous positions assumed by Nasir Ahmed Elrufai and Kashim Shettima who in pursuit of their blind ambition for the vice presidency, chose to side with the secessionist Igbos against the interest of peace-loving Nigerians.
It appears that characters like El-Rufai have no limit on how low they can fall in their inordinate desire to achieve their long held dream of power grab at the expense of the peace, well being and stability of our country.
We would like to assure El-Rufai and his ilks that we shall continue to expose their recalcitrant treachery and opportunistic proclivities.
We also assure them that the drive for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria in which the Igbos are not partners, will continue unabated.
Similarly, we are irked by the hordes of lies and misleading innuendos issued by Kashim Shettima, ostensibly on behalf of 19 Northern governors in which he refered to us as faceless and violent.
By our antecedents and track record, no politician or leader of honorable pedigree and impeccable character will associate us with such fabrications and this goes to prove that Shettima has disconnected from reality as he gets intoxicated by immoral wealth and property acquisition at the expense of people of the state suffering the devastation of Bolo Haram.

CONCLUSION
We urge the Federal Government of Nigeria to as a matter of urgency, initiate the process for a peaceful referendum to allow the Igbo to go. LET THEM GO.

LONG LIVE THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

*Do Your Medical Checks Please*

The raft of deaths in the last few weeks is benumbing. I wrote this in 2013, I'm forced to add a few words to it and repost it again. Anyone under 40 years of age can abuse their body and play Russian roulette with it. Nature will indulge you.

The game changes at 40. When you turn 50, the countdown to mortality begins. It is not called middle age for nothing. No one gets out of here alive but we can live well and comfortably enough into old age when we listen to our bodies and pay attention. Most people who die suddenly, die of pre-existing conditions they ignored, rejected or are afraid of. They think getting help is akin to inviting bad luck and bad diseases. Not true! The nature of these things are random. Some are coded in our genes, some are brought on by lifestyle. Some are unexplained.

If you are over forty years old and you are woman ignoring routine mammogram, pap smear with no baseline biomedical profile done, you are trying to kill yourself by installments. If you are over 40 and a man, and you have not gone to examine your prostate; you have not done the Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test, I'm sorry for you and your family.

You know yourselves as you read this, I have told you many times. I know you feel shy about this, but neither Bamidele nor doctors are concerned with your "wetin call". Your "wetin call" no be my problem, it is the bomb that can explode under that is our concern. I want us to reverse ugly trends of low life expectancy and untimely deaths in Nigeria. I want us to increase the life expectancy rate. Don't join the "I reject it, it is not my portion" crowd of denial. Those words can only come from the mouths of ignorants. Human body is programmed to decay.

From my experience, the bolts and knots starts its loosening process once you hit the magical age of forty. Your body starts to change, things do not feel quite the same, although the pace of degeneration can vary with individuals. You can age gracefully and in good health. Please check your blood sugar at least twice a year, check your blood pressure, your cholesterol level, go for your annual physical. Do kidney and liver function tests to catch any problem early. If you smoke or have asthma like me, see your pulmonary surgeon often. See a dentist. Check your vision to rule out glaucoma especially if you are from the north. If you are Fulani, know you are predisposed to blood clots.  When you clock 50, go for a colonoscopy, there is no shame to it. your doctors, nurses and anesthesiologists have seen more crooked behind than yours.

I know mental illness have a lot of stigma to it. If you hear strange voices in your head or if you feel blue, overwhelmed by melancholy and you feel you are in a dark place all the time, seek help. Talk to a psychiatrist. It is not a shame to take medicines daily. Don't be deceived by anointing oil and holy water. Get real help.

My female friends are better than my male friends at checking their well being. Stop chasing money, stop overworking. You need wellness to enjoy money. Work cannot leave you, you will have to leave work some day. If you are drinking too much Alomo bitters, or if the Mallam selling the "new awakening" reserves the special one for you. Na im be say wahala dey.

Check your blood pressure and sugar level, those things kills a  man's sexual function and some medicines used to treat these conditions do kill libido. Unless you have serious erectile dysfunction, you don't need enhancers to enter Jerusalem. The truth is that after 45, you can't enter like before. It  is like that. Move on. Report any untoward sign to your doctor, know and understand your body so you can easily notice quirky changes. People who are given terrible diagnosis did not offend God, everything in life is random. We have no idea how we drew the cards. With checks, bad stuff can be found early and treated.

For the religious die-hards. I have a prayer I say for you; Father Lord, you know your humble servant and her friends and families are couch potatoes except for a few body Nazis among them. The only thing active about us father is our imagination. My followers and I do not run, neither do we jog. When we run, your Holiness sure knows something must be chasing us. We beseech thee to grant us the wisdom to check our bodies yearly.

Deliver us from bad eating habits, sedentary lifestyle, smoking, excessive consumption of alcohol and indulgence in recreational drugs and harmful substances. May You protect us from bad diseases and bad actions. May You grant us the totality of goodness, from within and from without. I commit my friends and followers to you because I'm tired of calling them out and pestering them on phone over their health. Amen?

To the ladies, the hospitals use nice "tiny" plastic speculum to open the cervix these days compared to the scary ginormous steel probe we were examined with in the past.

I admit to skipping a pap smear or two because of the GIANT speculum. Good news, that is for me and for you. Schedule an appointment to see your doctor today! To my male friends, let the doctor examine your wetin call. Check your testosterone.

You may share this update. Do not copy it.

Islam is a religion of peace....only IF you are Yoruba

COPIED:   Islam is a religion of peace....only IF you are Yoruba!

Finding water in its liquid, solid or gaseous form on the surface of Mars is difficult, if not impossible. Finding a Yoruba Jihadist born and bred on Yoruba soil is equally impossible.

We've all heard of Islamist Terrorists from different ethnic groups and tribes but never in the history of radical religious extremism has a Yoruba Islamist terrorist been heard of. Radicalizing a Yoruba through religion appears to be an uphill task.

If transmigration of souls were true, then President Trump must have been a Yoruba man in his former life because of his 'America First' philosophy. Unlike any ethnicity I know within and outside the shores of Nigeria, the Yorubas are the only ones I know who put 'Yoruba First'. The 'Yoruba First' philosophy is stronger than any religious sentiments.

By 'Yoruba First' I do not mean that the Yoruba give favours only to Yoruba or that other tribes must rank second in sharing the goodies. No. The 'Yoruba First' philosophy simply means that for the Yoruba, our root, ethos and cultural ties come first and rank higher above any other considerations. The Yoruba people are deeply invested in their culture, ethos and ethics more than any other considerations.

This is why despite the fact that Yorubas have the highest number of Muslims in Nigeria after the Northerners, not one Islamist Terrorist has been linked to or found among the Yoruba. Our 'omoluwabi' (child of noble pedigree) ideology is stronger than any extremist indoctrination.

If I boarded a commercial plane with 20 heavily bearded Yoruba Muslims, I would be relaxed and confident the moment they speak Yoruba. This is because I know that they'd see me FIRST as 'eyan wa' or 'tiwa n tiwa' (our own) and not as an Infidel or Christian. This is the 'Yoruba First' philosophy. However, if I found one heavily bearded Northerner on the same airplane, I might easily become paranoid.

There is something about the Yoruba ethos that places great premium on human lives and family or blood. They hardly ever kill for any religion despite the fact that they are deeply religious. They are just progressives and liberal minded folks. Perhaps this is why it was very easy for Colonial Masters to relate with their Empires better than the others in the East and North; making the Yoruba the first to embrace the Queen's education in Nigeria.

It is only among the Yoruba that you'd find a Muslim & Christian marry each other, as uncommon as it is.

The Yoruba extended family is the most inclusive, diverse and accommodating I have ever seen under the sun. Take my extended family for instance;

I have Muslim Cousins, Muslim Aunt and Muslim Uncle. I also have Christian Aunts and Cousins. These uncle and aunts have the same parent (now late). Everyone in my own nuclear family is Christian. My Uncle is a devout Muslim. His wife is Christian. His children are Christians. Not once has religion ever caused friction or been a subject of family controversy among us. Not once to my knowledge.

In fact, my father used to actively celebrate all the Muslim festivities (Sallah etc) while my mother would drag us to church, yet not once did they fight because of religious differences. Their fights were for other things. Even my mum was born into a Muslim family. She became the first Christian in her family but never an outcast before her siblings. This is why I called the Yoruba a progressive people. The 'Yoruba First' philosophy at its finest. Little wonder the foreigners found an easy ally in them. They were balanced!

Even today, with the high number of Muslims and mosques in Yoruba States, these States remain destinations of choice for ALL Nigerians. Southwestern States are a potpourri of the ethnic groups in Nigeria. A melting pot of sorts. This is largely due to the fact that the Yoruba (particularly the Muslims) cannot be easily radicalized, and thus peaceful. This explains why the region (especially Lagos & Ogun States) enjoys massive foreign direct investments.

If all Muslims were Yoruba, Islam truly might end up being the most peaceful religion ever. Sadly, this is not the reality.

Proudly Yoruba.

Breaking News today

Breaking News today :

In compliance with the Acting President's executive order on the Airports, the manual baggage checking counter has been removed today. After scanning your luggage at the entrance you just go through to check in counter unless they feel there is something suspicious in your luggage. Quarantine officers have been removed completely from check in process while NDLEA and other relevant security agencies are stationed at the entrance to check your luggage using the scanning machine.

Wonderful and good news from our Change governance.
Those officials were just there to ridicule, humiliate and exploit travellers.
Their activities added no single value to the travellers or security rather was using it to lace their pockets.
Nice one!

ERNEST OKONKWO, the greatest football commentator of our time...

HE WAS THE GREATEST FOOTBALL COMMENTATOR IN THE HISTORY OF AFRICA. (ERNEST OKONKWO). HIS RHYMES AND CHOICE OF WORDS USED TO DESCRIBE ACTIONS ON THE FIELD OF PLAY WOULD MAKE YOU STAY GLUED TO YOUR RADIO OR TV SET.
HERE ARE SOME OF HIS POPULAR COMMENTS:-

‘After ninety minutes of play and extra-time, the match has ended one goal apiece but a winner must emerge. Five players have on each side been selected to take the penalty kicks. The players are praying to their God to give them this day but it is not who prays more but who plays better.

Okey Isima, with a short pass to Sylvanus Okpala, they both play in Portugal. They can communicatein Igbo, they can communicate in English, they can communicate in Portuguese and they just communicated  with the ball.

Emmanuel Okala holds the ball, cuddles it like a baby, bounces the ball once and hits with a left footer and Emmanuel Osigwe chest traps and lays the ball for a well positioned Ranger. The lanky ebony black goal-hungry Ranger is ranging alone in the goal area of the water corporation football club of Ibadan. Can the one man riot squad make it four for Rangers? A hat-trick i.e. one, two, three goals are already in his kitty. Ifeanyichukwu means nothing is insurmountable to God. Four goals are also not beyond the ability of Ifeanyichukwu Onyedika. Eventually the opportunity is lost. Goal kick is coming to the Ibadan lads. If a man goes hunting with a gun, matchet, jack-knife, arch, horse-whip, Hausas call it ‘bulala or ‘koboko’, do you expect any animal to escape? Rangers came to Ibadan with a killer-squad. Meanwhile Bennedict’ Surugede’ Ugwu and Amaechi Ottih are warming up for Rangers.  Rangers is building attack from defence through Patrick Ekeji with a triangular tap to Herbert Anijekwu and Innocent Obiekwo to Commander Louis Igwilo and he leaves the ball to Chairman Christian Chukwu who chest-traps and sends a banana kick pass to Ifeanyichukwu Onyedika in the eighteen yard box of Water Corporation. He beats stylishly an on-rushing defender and a scissors-kick and it is a goal o-o-o-o-. Goal number four for the flying Antelopes and Indomitable Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, all scored by Ifeanyichukwu “Ahidjo”Onyedika.

A defender of the Water Corporation Football Club of Ibadan quickly takes it away and lumps a high one into the eighteen yard box of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu. Michael Emenalo stops the ball, looks in the direction of the right where Sylvanus Okpala is perfectly piloting the affairs but chooses to raise a high one to Okey Isima. Like a crab, he moves and jabs a low one to Christian Ogbodo who loses control but Kenneth Boardman came to the rescue. He lifts the ball to Adokiye Amasiemeka, Justice, he is called, who moves in a zig-zag direction and caresses the ball to Aloysius Atuegbu, blockbuster blocks a player of the Water Corporation of Ibadan for Kingsley Onye (Mature) to take over control who with a header back passes to goal keeper Emmanuel Man Mountain Okala. This could just be taken for a practice match for Rangers as with or without this victory, Rangers Football Club has won the 1981 Nigeria Division One Football League.

“He beats Christian Chukwu; he beats Christian Madu; he beats Christian Nwokocha, he beats three Christians in a row. Who is this man? He must be a Muslim. Oh, it is Shefiu Mohammed sending a diagonal pass to Baba Otu Mohammed.”

“Etim Esin, he shilly-shallies, he dilly-dallies, he tries to beat one man but only succeeds in beating himself!”

Oh noooo…it’s an own goal! Nigeria has scored Nigeriaaaaaa!!!

Referring to the most famous own Goal in Nigerian history by Odiye,

' …and now we have Elijah of Nigeria. Give us this day. The whole country is on your shoulders; you cannot afford to fail your country…And he moves, 1 ,2 , 3, 4 it’s a goooooooooooaaaaal!!!! This is a miracle. The God of soccer is a Nigerian!”

Emmanuel “Man Mountain” Okala, Aloysius “Blockbuster” Atuegbu, Christian “ Chairman” Chukwu, “Mathematical” Segun Odegbani, Kelechi “Caterpiller” Emetole, “Midfield Maestro” Mudashiru Lawal, “Justice” Adokiye Amasiemeka, Uwem “Harmattan” Ekerika, Sylvanus “Quicksilver “Okpala, “Commander” Louis Igwilo, Sylvester “Bahama” Oparanozie, Benedict “Surugede” Ugwu, Idowu “Slow Poison” Otubusin, “Shortish” John Benson, “Dimunitive” Amaechi Otti, Nnamdi “Policeman” Anyafo, Davison “Okada Air” Qwumi, Daniel “The Bull” Amokachi, “Penalty Specialist” Christian Madu, “Masters of Long Throw” Moses Otolorin and Nwabueze Nwankwo, “The Man with Bullet Shot” Emmanuel Osigwe

The Moving Train.

I would like to tell a Story of four people who became very Close Friends by Circumstances. I used to call them the "MOVING TRAIN" till It became Imperative that They had to seperate because in Politics, There are no Permanent friend or Permanent Enemies..ONLY PERMANENT INTEREST

Let's keep politics aside and Face Reality..These four people Alongside a few others came with the political Ideology and slogan then "I BELIEVE" in 2007. By The Hand of God and Their collective effort(Whether One of them contributed 0.1%, they all contributed one way or the other), On 27th October 2007, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi emerged The Governor of Rivers State and These were the only friends He could count on.

THEIR BOND OF TRUST AND LOVE WAS EARNED. Let me give you a run down of what they had achieved in Politics before they merged to form what I called "THE MOVING TRAIN" in 2007..

There Has Never been a Squad like this since the creation of Rivers State till Date. They were so Powerful that Everyone even had advised Governor Amaechi to push them to Abuja because Rivers State could no longer Contain them. The Power was too much yet They Blossomed.
